Hello, I'm trying to install Win 2K and I get the
following error message: NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM. I'v also
received the the following two error
messages:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, and KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE.
I tried two different drives that is why I have gotten
different messages. I'm currently rebuilding the computer
and have changed the motherboard, and cpu. I'm begining
to think it may be the memory. While the computer was
running with the old hardware the computer would reboot
automatically. The memory is the only thing I haven't
changed yet. Thanks

To do a clean install, either boot the Windows 2000 install CD-Rom or setup
disks. The set of four install disks can be created from your Windows 2000
CD-Rom; change to the \bootdisk directory on the CD-Rom and execute
makeboot.exe (from dos) or makebt32.exe (from 32 bit) and follow the
prompts.

When you get to the point, delete the existing NTFS and or other partitions
found. After you delete the partition(s) abort the install, then again
restart the pc booting the CD-Rom or setup disks to avoid unexpected drive
letter assignments with your new install.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have the OS installed
anymore, so I Deleted the Partition I had. Then I ran the
win2k setup. Part of that process was to partition the
drive which I did. During this process I got the
IRQ_not_less_or_equal error messagea again. Thanks

I am also having a similar problem, when i get to the part
of setup where its copying files to the hardisk, i get
numerous file copy errors, and eventually a blue Stop error
screen with those 3 same error codes. i have attemped a
clean install, with the same results. I have formatted the
drive with a western digital utility floppy that has a
bit-by-bit format method, and it has made no difference. I
have also tried hooking up the drive to both IDE channels
on the motherboard, to troubleshoot the IDE channels.
-please help, thanks

You may want to check the HCL and check the pc, mb, or bios manufacturer's
web site for an updated bios (if required) and or the hardware
manufacturer's web site for Windows 2000 drivers for your devices.

Well, I replaced my System Memory and that seems to have
worked. It was older, and low quality. Maybe that was
the problem. Thanks for the replies.
