Hello,

We currently have 2 AD and an internal DNS with DHCP, we
also have firewall. Now we have a new branch office that
we need to setup a AD, we wants the users in the branch
office to have access to the LAN in the main office (we
use novell data server, and email server "Groupwise".).
We are thinking about implement VPN for the connection
between the 2 offices.

What role should I setup for the new AD in the branch
office. I would like this branch office to use the DNS
and DHCP of the main office, is this possible?
This is my very first time working on the VPN. Someone
please tell me what's the requirement on both end of the
offices to be able to setup the VPN and I can I have it
done?
Please be detail!

Thanks alot!

If both ends have fixed internet IP address then it is possible. Just get
two VPN routers and ask someone to help you with setup, if you feel, that
you don't know enough to setup this. When you have two sites connected,
create Sites in AD (AS sites and Serivces) and assign apropriate subnet
object to each site. Install new DC in remote site and make it a Global
Catalog server and also a DNS server (point your remote clients first to
their local DNS server and then to your remote DNS server). I would also
suguest you to use it as a DHCP server for remote site (or at least as DHCP
relay agent).

Thanks for your reply.

I got to have the VPN router to beable to set it up? Can
you be more detail about VPN setup. We have a router
that's place outside of the firewall, can we used that
router and setup the VPN?

Thanks!
