I am trying to format and install a clean copy of Win 2000 from Win 98.
I have been successful at deleting the partitions that previously existed.
But after I delete the partitions and proceed to install when it gets to
100% I get the error mentioned in article Knowledge Base Article
277546, shown below. The computer is 40g.
"Setup was unable to format the partition. The disk may be damaged.
Make sure the drive is switched on and properly connected to your
computer. If the disk is a SCSI disk, make sure your SCSI devices are
properly terminated. Consult your computer or SCSI adapter
documentation for more information.
You will have to select a different partition for Windows NT. Press
ENTER to continue."
I see the resolution steps but I am unsure if this means that I cannot
upgrade to Win 2000 and I have to have Win 98 on the partition?
Any assistance is appreciated.
Thanks
Shannon
