Setup file extraction

I was running a setup file on my computer and it requires about 800mb and the
drive i am trying to install it too has more that 7gb. But each time I try to
install my main drive seems to take up space instead which doesnt have the
space required for it. How can I stop that from happening?

You may not but you can give this a try.
Make a folder on the larger drive. Lets call it F:\TEMP2. The name is
not important.
Windows has defined temp folders on C: that the program may just be
using during install. So if you can change that,you might just move
where its going.
Right click My Computer|Properties|Advanced|Environment Variables|
You'll see both user and system environment variables.
There are TEMP and TMP variables in both.
The User is normally pointed to C:\documents and settings\user\local
settings\temp and the system is C:\windows\temp.
I would take a gamble that if you changed those paths for the point of
the install and then rebooted, the install would run.
Write down the old settings. I'd put them back personally.
 
Thank you Big Al it worked when I changed both the TEMP and the TMP files to
that new folder. Thank you again.
 
The only problem now is that for some reason the installation wants to force
some files into local drives and I dont know how to make it all go to the
specified folder.
