Whether I boot from the DVD or attempt to install from within XP, I get the
following error:

"Setup could not get information about the disks on your computer"

My Vista Build:

6.0.5384.4 (winmain_beta2.060518-1455)

My disk configuration is:

Disk 0 - NTFS - Serial ATA

Disk 1 - NTFS - USB

My computer has RAID, but I'm currently not running it (as I thought that my
be the issue)...

Also, the Install appears to work fine on my Laptop, just not on my desktop,
so the DVD itself appears valid.

....any information would be appreciated.

It *might* help.. check this for alternate solutions to running setup.

If it is a harddrive error... well, wait for Andre to reply.

Andre,

Thanks a lot for the information. After reading through the setupact.log
that you pointed out, I realized that it was finding my primary drive
without issue, but was failing on my external USB hard drive (which I wasn't
planning on using)...

I unplugged my external USB hard drive and the setup works.

Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction...

With what you've found out, I think the reason I'm getting the same problem
may be by my raid array, even though it's not my primary drive. I'm gonna
disable it and try setup again. *crosses fingers*

If I have my two sata's (in raid 0) plugged in I get the same error, and the
install cant proceed. If I unplug the sata's I can install to a partition on
the ide, but then I cant successfully reinstall the raid
