Hi,

I'm thinking of having a server at home. As far as, I know should request a
static IP. Am I right ?
Planning to have a 2000 or 2003 server. Please let me know what you think
and what you suggest.

Thanks

Depends - are you talking about setting up a Web server when you say "real"
server? If so you probably want a static IP or use one of the dynamic DNS
services.
If you are talking about something else, please let us know.

Not necessarily. The server should have a static IP, but normally
you'd want it to be in a private address range, which means you don't
need to "request it". You would use NAT on a router to gte your
internet access to the server.

2003. Newer, better, faster, stronger. And most important, not a
discontinued product. :)
