I'm able to send this question today, but sometimes get an error 800 code.
Please advise.

What is the exact error message? You don't give us anything to work on.
We know you're using WinXP SP2, but is this problem only with news or also
with mail?
Have you tried the Microsoft news server, msnews.microsoft.com?
Are you always connected through AT&T?

Sorry for the lack of info... I hope that the following helps.

1. I always connent using AT&T.
2. When I select a link I get the "This page cannot be opened" message. I
check all of the settings suggested to no avail.
3. When I select a news group I'm getting the following message/code...
TCP/IP error... Account: netnews.worldnet.att.net
Server: netnews.worldnet.att.net
Protocol: NNTP
Port: 119
Secure(SSL): 0
Code: 800ccc15.

I recently did a re-enstall of XP and this stuff started.

P.S. Where do I find the MS newsserver, etc.?
