I always have this problem when I am using Window
Messenger. The connection will be cut off without my
knowledge. On my PC, it's showing that I am still online
but on my friend's PC, he told me that I am offline. So,
I tried to double click on his name to send a message, a
message will pop up and say, "You are currently not
logon" Pls logon to send a message..

Is there a way to keep my messenger connection alway
alive just like one of the features which ICQ have? Thank
you.

Greetings Raymond,

There's no specific setting to change the behavior of how Windows Messenger "stays alive",
however, here are a few suggestions:

Firstly, if you're using a router, make sure you have the latest firmware release from the
router manufacturer. A number of routers have had problems maintaining a connection with the
..NET Messenger network using Messenger (just simply due to the techniques it uses to stay
online).

Secondly, you might try using MSN Messenger 6.x instead, as it supports a different way of
maintaining a connection:

Thanks Jonathan. I guess it's due to the router.
