NewScience,
You are correct in your instructions. I looked up the instructions fron 2004
when someone on this list helped me find it. But it will not work now I have
had the worst time with Windows XP this time. I have installed it twice.
When I make changes it tries to revert back to the defalt xp settings as
well as forgetting all my e-mail settings in Outlook. Is there a possibility
of a bad install? I know it sounds like a silly question but I do not think
it is hardware. I like my machine to look like Windows 95. Thanks

Has anyone set the Do not Save Settings on Logoff?
What XP do you have? XP Home, Pro or Media Center?

I have set auto logon in tweakui. Where is the setting you are talking
about? It is Windows XP Pro.

If you change your Desktop background, reboot and login, is the change
present or does it go back to the background previous?

It was changing back to the default xp background when I made changes to
desktop background. It seem to be stable now. I have auto login set in
tweakui.and I have the welcome screen turned off in user accounts. Now when
I reboot it ask me for nothing. I am the only one that uses the machine so I
do not have different accounts. Maybe I was doing something inadvertently to
mess it up.
