Settings Aren't Remembered upon Restart

Greetings -

Somehow, certain settings are not being remembered when I close Outlook and
open it again (I'm using Outlook 2003). What I've noticed: I keep adding the
Journal icon to the Navigation pane (just below all the folders (Inbox,
offline folders, etc.)), and when I restart Outlook it is gone. (I've added
the icon both by clicking on "Options...Other...Navigation Pane Options" and
by click the "add/remove buttons" icon in the Navigation Pane itself...)

Also, I know that when you leave certain folders open in the file structure
to show its subfolders, these are supposed to remain open upon restarting
Outlook. I file all of my messages in many folders, and on a previous
computer it was handy not having to reopen all the folders. Now, each time I
restart I only see the top layer of folders and have to re-open layers of
folders to file as I want...

So, it seems that somehow certain settings aren't being remembered once I
shut down. I haven't noticed what other settings are not being remembered,
but these are probably not the only two items...

Any thoughts??

Start Outlook with the /resetnavpane switch and see if it works now.

Thanks so much for trying to help me out here...

Unfortunately, I started Outlook as you suggested and I don't see any change
in the behavior.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks again,

-Don
