I found a tech article 314076 that talks about setting up VPN in windows XP.
My questions are:

1) Step 11 is "Type the host name or IP address that you want to connect
to": Does that have to be a Static IP address. I am trying to connect to a
number of different people.
How to handle:
a) If you are trying to connnect to another dial-up what do you use.
b) What if they cable modem, do you the IP address of the modem box.
c) If they have DSL, same do you use IP address of box.

2) What has to be done on the computer of the place you are trying to
connect to.

3) Will this work if you are using XP Home.

4) Can this be set up for a home to server if the server is Windows server
2000.

Thank you.

1. in most cases, you should setup one connection to one dedicated VPN server/host. However, you may use CMAK for multiple VPN selections.
2. no matter how they connection to the Internet, you need to know their IP or host. If they are using dynamic IP, you may setup DDNS.
3. The remote computer should be setup as VPN server/host or incoming connection.
4. the XP home should work too.
