Hello. I am having problems setting up a home network with computers
with XP. I go through the wizard, make a network setup disk, run that
on other computers, etc... and they never see each other (only the
computer I'm using is under the Network Places tree). I've varied
settings on the computers, in the network, and in my router, but no
luck. I'm hoping there will be someone who can offer some advice, or at
least point me in the right direction.
Here's what I have:
Cable modem connected to a DLink DI-524 wireless router (802.11g). From
there, I have a desktop hardwired to the router, and Xbox hardwired to
the router, and my notebook which is wireless (encrypted connection).
My girlfriend occasionally jumps on by hardwiring her notebook in,
though I'm thinking of getting her a wireless card. But that is, in a
nutshell, the hardware. Both computers are running XP Home.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
