i'm trying to set up a vpn using xp. all i find in the kb are the basics,
which i've applied, but am not successful. is there a resource with
step-by-step instructions including necessary settings? also, i seem to only
find info for the machine connecting to the office, but not the directions
for the incoming connection setup. the following are the specs:

office: win xp sp1, belkin F5D5231-4 router, earthlink dsl
home: win xp sp2, belkin F5D6230-3 router, comcast cable

belkin, earthlink, and comcast all say it should work fine with no
adjustments needed. i think i just need to know how to properly set up vpn
in xp on both ends. i greatly appreciate any advice.

For a PPTP VPN connection you need TCP Port 1723 open and GRE Protocol 47 traffic enabled. The later
is sometimes called "PPTP Pass Through" or "VPN Pass Through". Consult the documentation for your
router for further help...
