I suggest you contact Verizon again, when you are sitting at your computer.
Have them walk you through it. Test immediately - while they are still on
the line.

Your problem may be the @ sign.
"@" is for a mail *address*, ". " is for a server.
Try "incoming.verizon.net" (without the quotes), etc

I have a Verizon primeum DSL line (I think with MSN as an overlay),
and can't find out what the POP3 entry for incoming mail should be. I get
mail fine at the Verizon site. On the Vista setup screen for
mail, for incoming mail server I enter (e-mail address removed) since
this is what the Verizon help indicated was the term, but Vista keeps
refusing to accept it. Ditto with the "outgoing." Appaerently I'm
supposed to put something in front of the "incoming" and the
"outgoing" but I don't know what that is or where to find out~! HELP~!
Thanks. David

Have you tried the following:

incoming.verizon.net
outgoing.verizon.net

Try using incoming.verizon.net (use a period instead of the @ sign.). Do the
same with the outgoing.
