Hi,
I am trying to run a licensed product(I have paid for it) that is tied
to a static IP address.

This I am trying to do on my laptop when NOT connected to internet so
that I can work on it when I am on the go.

I have a internal wirelss card and also a internal ethernet connecter.
I assinged a static IP using the TCP/IP protocol configuration
window to both the wirless adaptor and the ethernet adaptor but for
some reason, the software still fails with the loopback address of
127.0.0.1. I.e. it seems that it still picks up this loopback
address as the IP address tied to "hostname" of my laptop.

I run "ipconfig" (when there is no LAN connection) and still don't see
my assigned static IP tied to any of the adaptoers(not wireless nor
LAN adpator).

I looked through XP help and the closes thing I came across was using
"ELAN" but not sure if I am on the right track.

Does anyone know what is going on ? Why can't I assigned a static
IP address to my laptop and have it be picked up by the software ?

TIA for you help.

John.
