Hello again,

I am tring to set up a SMTP/POP3 e-mail server. I already installed
IIS/SMTP virtual server and configured it. Does anyone know how to install
the POP3 component?

Thanks,

John

Since this is the W2K group I'll assume you're running W2K. W2K has
no POP server, you need a third party mail server program.

Oh, I assumed that there was some sort of POP3 component either as an addon
or part of W2K (on the disk) that I could install. Any recomendations?

Thanks,

No, nothing included.
Depends what you need - for a nice alternative to Exchange check out Kerio
Mail Server - www.kerio.com. But there are also a lot simpler things out
there if you don't need those features.

Mercury Mail (pmail.com) is popular and free. Ipswicth has a personal
version of iMail available now as well. Or an upgrade to Server 2003,
which has POP in it.
