Hi all,

I have a WinXP machine that is hosting a cable internet connection for two
Win2K machines. I'd like to host roaming profiles for the Win2K machines on
the XP machine so my kids can use either PC. Is there any info on exactly
how to go about setting this up?

I tried copying the profiles onto the XP machine and setting the network
file location as the roaming profile location, but that alone doesn't seem
to work. Also tried making those locations shared folders and mounting them
on the Win2K machines, then making the mounted drives the profile folders,
but that didn't work either.

Hi - you can't use roaming profiles unless you have a domain....but you can
set up identical profiles on each computer for each user account. Workgroups
don't use a centralized account database - it's all per-machine.

So is there any way of synchronising the profiles between the two machines,
or else hosting them on a single shared network folder?

Not profiles, no, not that I know of. For that you need a domain.
