Howdy all,

I am working on an XP station at this non-profit, and I
need to know how to set up a consistent network mapping
(i.e.: D= \\WHATEVER\VOLUME1) that will connect
regardless of who logs in. Unfortunately, this network
doesn't have roaming profiles, or this whole deal would
be moot. Any help appreciated!

In a peer-to-peer network, I don't think you can fully automatically do
that. Each user has to map manually (or perhaps via a small batch file) the
first time they log in. If the mapping is defined as persistent, it will be
there next time they log in.

If you have a domain, then mapping can be part of the default login script.

Though...

I can't test this myself now, but you may want to try placing a small batch
file (with a "net use... /persistent:yes" command) in the \Documents and
Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup directory
