Setting up My Email with Windows Vista

Hi

I have a domain with Lycos that is forwarded to my Hotmail Address - I now
want to set this up so that it can be configured in my Windows Vista but keep
getting an error - what do I need to do to send and receive my mail in my
Vista Windows Mial Inbox

Hello,
As far as I'm aware, "Windows Mail" does not process "Web-based"
email. You may have to find an alternative client to read your Hotmail with.
Sorry I can't be more positive, but I have the same problem.
 
I am guessing this is also the case for a gmail account. I checked out Win
Live Mail and considered downloading it (for testing) but want to make sure
it will just grab all the info for gmail.. or Can if it is possible to just
set it up in Win Mail.. can someone walk me through the addind the server and
POP info for gmail?

Gmail works perfectly with Windows Mail.

You set it up just look Outlook Express....

Gmail also works perfectly with Windows Live Mail and is
set up just as it is in Windows Mail.

Even better... If you have Gmail set up in Windows Mail
when you install Windows Live Mail it automatically
adopts the correct settings.

Just one extra point...

Many people overlook enabling POP within Gmail
which prevents it functioning within WM or WLM.

Wm and WLM will both handle Gmail POP email.
I have an account that works with them both.

first, you have to log onto the Gmail web page, and enable POP email.

Settings
Forwarding & POP
POP Download: [x] Enable POP for all email
Save Changes

then create the account in WM

you can follow the Outlook Express instructions, as it's very similar.

Make sure you use the correct ports and check the SSL boxes on the Advanced
tab...
