I have a win 2000 server with IIS5.0 and .NET Framework 1.0 installed on it
for ASP.net, i have the default web site which i want to add users to so the
can author to the site. how do i do this in iis? also our users are in
Active directory. thanks!

right click site, configure frontpage server extensions, then follow the
screen. once this is done, fire up frontpage, connect to the site, then
configure the permissions

You need to use the Internet Service Manager MMC (or the HTML version

Get to Properties on the default web site (Right-click) and make sure you
have operator rights (under operators tab)

If you are using FrontPage (as I guess you mean by FP, load the web site
into front page from the server, go to Tools and Security, and you can set
permissions for users there.

At least that's what I do on my ancient set-up, and I presume it'll be
similar

Good Luck (BTW, this is not really a windows question.....it's and IIS or
Front Page one, and maybe someone else will give you a better steer...

You need the server extensions loaded on the server. This from the Options
Pack (at least it was on NT4)

Once loaded, configure server extensions through IIS manager

Then you can set permission from any machine connected to the web site with
Front Page installed (as above)
