How do I set up my database fields to display a certain color for that field
when I preview Reports in Access?

You can go into the report in design view and change the fill color to the
color you want for that field (this will make all records in this field the
same color). In design view, right click on the field you want changed and
hightlight "Fill/Back Color" and a list of colors will appear. If you want
to highlight particular records (for example: any record with an amount over
$100.00) you can use the Conditional Formatting option. To do this, click on
the field you would like color-coded (in design view), and click on Format,
then Conditional Formatting on the Menu bar. Then set the parameters for the
format.

I ran into this same problem. You need to set up your
conditional formatting for every block in the row to
conform to the same criteria that is set up in your
control block. After I set up the one box that control
the color change, I just set up every block to the same
format criteria. Hope this helps.
