I have just put WindowsXP Professional on my officer
computer and want to use log in with passwords like I did
with windows 98. Is there a way to do this with
WindowsXP? It is stand alone unit.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Go to Control Panel -> User Accounts -> click on your
account -> Create a password
If you want to use the classic login (it will require you
to type in the user name and password) instead of welcome
screen (click on your account name and type in password),
then do the following:
Control panel -> User Accounts -> Change the way users
log on or off (Under: Pick a task...) -> check off the
use welcome screen option.

Thanks for the help. I also used to use the admin found
on the old windows 95 disk - in which you could restrict
the areas people could go and also clear the desktop. Do
you know if this can be used in windowsXP?
Thanks

Just make one user account administrator in the same User Accounts area
already mentioned. Then make the rest of the user accounts limited
accounts.
