To start I have never done this before I have always paid
some one to get this stuff working and some folks say I'm
to old for this stuff, but. I have the above noted modem
installed inside the pc, recently had the motherboard &
processor upgraded now I try to setup the modem and I find
that the program will not initialize it, I find it is
lacking a driver I am and have been using Bitware for
Windows by Computer Associates also called Chyenne
Bitware. I really want this thing to answer the phone
when I'm not home also send and recieve Faxes the data
side is not needed as I currently have a cable hookup
grouped with the television cable people. I thought I
could simply download the drivers I need from the
microsoft web site but I cant figure out how? I can find
what I want but not how to get it. Further the website
states Agree Systems Modem is compatable while my 2000
disc shows it is not. If anybody can solve this problem
please keep it simple I am a Retired Combat Veteran and
need simple do this, if that do something, avoid the usual
cluster that most young folks speak these days. Thank You

You should have a CD that comes along with the modem provider. Please
install the driver from the same.

Also Microsoft publishes some papers called as Knowledge Base Articles. One
of them showed that Bitware For Windows can cause the spooler service (which
is used by the Fax Service) to stop. The entire article is here -

Please let me know if this helps.
