Setting up Active Directory on a 2003 server in a 2000 forest

I have one windows 2000 server that is a DC. I setup a new server that is a
windows 2003 R2 server that i want to join the existing 2000 domain and then
i want to transfer all the roles from the 2000 DC to the new 2003 DC Can
anyone tell me the steps to do this.

Hello Dan,

On your 2000 DC insert disk 2 from R2 and run adprep /forestprep and adprep
/domainprep. After that you can dcpromo the 2003 R2 server in your running
domain.

i transfered all the roles. Is there a way to verify that everything went
ok.

Hello Dan,

Check your event viewer for errors, run dcdiag and netdiag at your DC's.
Their should be no errors. log in with your client pc's. Run gpresult on
the client to see if GPO's are applied (Default domain policy) should be
always their, except you have deleted it.
