Hi,

I'm barely computer literate and I'm having a tough time
figuring out how to set up my Windows 2000 to prompt for a
password when I boot up my home computer. I'm trying to
prevent my children from logging onto my computer whenever
I'm not around. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If anyone is inclined to email me an answer, please
include "Windows 2000 security" in the subject line so I
won't delete your email as spam. Thanks!

Phil

Hi Phil.

See the link to the article below on how that is configured and you will
have to reverse the settings. You can use Computer Management/local users
and groups to create and configure user accounts and groups. Be sure to
check the membership of the admininstrators group to see if it is what you
want. Anyone that is in the administrators group can have total control of
the computer. Be sure to use hard to guess passwords. -- Steve
