Hi

I need to configure an active/active cluster using Windows 2000 Advanced Server using
2 Proliant DL380G3 Servers & 1 Smart Array Cluster Storage

My application requires clients to access Oracle 9i database on the cluster servers, using a domain name configuration

Now, what i want to know is, can i configure the cluster servers to act as domain controllers in active/active mode or do i need an additional domain controller system outside the cluster to authenticate my clients for the application to run

I thank you in advance for your replies

Bye

There is no technical reason why you would need another Domain Controller
for Authentication. However, its not recommended to make cluster servers
domain controllers but if you must, make sure both of them are. If
authentications are slow, you will need another DC to process login
requests. But you will need to manipulate your AD site setup so users are
directed to the stand-alone DC
