I have Small Business Server 2000.

How do you set up a wins and a DNS server?
What has to be done on the server and on the Clients?

How easy is it and how do i find out if i have either set
up already?

Please could someone help and could you explain simply.

Many thanks

Brian

Brian,

To check to see if you have WINS and DNS enabled, just click on START >
Programs > Adminnistrative Tools. If you see DNS and WINS manager - this is
then installed.

If not, go to Control Panel and Click on Add Remove Programs. Then Click on
the button, Add/Remove Windows Components. You should be able to navigate
and install DNS/WINS. This will ask you for the Win2k CDROM.

For setting up DNS, please click on the following link and consult the KB
articles in this section.
http://www.microsoft.com/Windows2000/technologies/communications/dns/default.asp#section1

Hope this helps
Regards
Paul.

setup, etc.
