New hard disc drive and system reinstalled. Unfortunately
when I try to log onto the network I get the message 'The
system cannot log you on to the domain because the
system's computer account in its primary domain is missing
or the password is incorrect'
I can't even logon locally as administrator.
The user and computer appear in 'Active Directory Users
and Computers'. The passwords are correct. I notice on
that when you click on the 'computer' in the 'Active
Directory Users and Computers', there is no domain name or
operating system information and no way of inputting them)
even if you delete and new it.
Any clever chappy or chappess got any ideas.
Thanks Julian

You'll need to use the local admin password (that was chosen at the time of
install) to logon to the machine, then join the machine to the domain.

If you mean through System Properties...Network
Identification....Properties, I have already tried it.
Regards Julian

Right-click My Computer, Properties|Network Identification|Properties,
change to "Member of:" Workgroup, then after restart change back to member
of Domain (your domain name), then you'll be prompted to provide a username
and password with domain account administration privileges, then after
restart you should be allowed to logon to the domain with a valid domain
account.
