I have set up a form to collect email addresses. In form properties I fill in
the email address to send form information to an email address but get an
error message as follows.

'Frontpage Server Extensions have not been configured to send emai. It
suggest setting up Windows email options or getting a Resource Kit for 2002.'

Server extensions on already available on my system, I am running XP and
Frontpage 2002. I am trying to achieve having information sent to my selected
email when the form is filled out and submitted. Thanks!

You don't have a SMTP server installed. If you publish the site to a web host that has the FP
extensions installed and configure to process email, then it should work.

My hosting service is with Microsoft and I use MS Commerce Manager for
product and shopping cart services. I am not sure if I need to set something
up between the host and in my internet options or in FrontPage. It simply is
not working.

I just checked my reports on Frontpage and I have a component error message
on the page in question.

email will not work unless "SMTPHost" or "Send Mail Command" configuration
parameters are set. Hmmm, where now?

Locally, you will always get the warning message.

However as long as you are publishing via FP's http mode to a server that has the FP extensions
installed and configure to process email, the form should work. Are you testing this on the live
site via http?

If yes, then you need to contact your web host.

As Thomas has inferred several times, you must install a SMTP server,
and then configure the extensions to use that server.
If you HTTP publish the web to a host that has the extensions
correctly configured for email, the error will go away on that live
site.
Note that installing a SMTP server on your local machine could turn
your PC into a spammer's paradise, unless you do the configuration
correctly and carefully, and even then the server may be blocked by
your ISP, as an anti-spam measure.

You aren't listening to what Thomas has been telling you.
