Is there any way I can limit/set what users on my computer
do? I believe my grandson somehow downloaded a software
program from the internet that allowed him to set himself
up as Administrator on my computer. Some of my programs
refuse to work and others work with great difficulty. My
computer has become pop-up heaven. Some of his installed
programs refuse to be uninstalled -- please help!!!
Thanks.

To revert what he did you'll need an account with administrative
privileges, if you do not have such account at your disposal, get
the password from him even if you have to take the power cord
off and hide it from him untill he's willing to give you the password...
[if he cant use the computer, the password will be of no use to him]..

a) If he's using an "administrative" user account;
change his account to a "limited user" in
Start\Run\control userpasswords2\select account\
properties\groups\select restricted user... [this type of account
cannot install programs].

b) If he's using the administrator/owner account
take possession of the administrator account..
in control userpasswords2\select the administrator account\
click on "restore password" and change the password..

Install spyware cleaners before attempting to uninstall his
programs.... the software you should download and have ready
to use are Ad-aware and Spybot Search & Destroy:

Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition, available from

Spybot Search and Destroy

For the pop-ups you need to enable the Internet Connection
Firewall. The reasons your programs dont work right is because
a) your account was probably made a limited user account..
b) your computer is infected with spyware.
