Hey,

Say I have a computer that has multiple user accounts
on it, but I want to make it so that when any user logs
on and goes to Internet Explorer it has the same
homepage, can that be done? If so, how?

Thanks a bunch for any help / advice provided.

Yes. That is possible; however, it is going to cost you
$200 american dollars.

Actually, in order to affect all users, you are going to
have to enter the matrix, or in other terms,
the "REGISTRY"!!! Argh!!!!

Take a walk with me, shall you?

Click on Start, then run. In command prompt, type:
regedit. If you have never been here before and are not
familiar with Registry Editor, I suggest that you save
your registry by clicking on File, then export registry
and save it to a disk or good location; however, you could
always do a system restore, which will fix your registry
if corrupted.

Okay, let's begin. On the left hand side, click on the
drop down menu for HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Click on the plus
symbol for SOFTWARE. Click plus symbol for MICROSOFT.
Click plus symbol for INTERNET EXPLORER. And then hit the
delete button to erase everything!!!! Nah, just kidding,
hope it isn't too late. :) Proceed by clicking on MAIN.
On the right hand side, look for keyword: Start Page.
Either double click it, or hit enter on the keywords to
open for editing. In the Value Data section, change to
whatever you want the home page to be, hit Okay, and close
Registry. Bam! You are finished, and I am $200 dollars
richer. Please, no personal checks though, okay?

You better get the refund cheque out. HKCU is the registry for the current user. It won't be loaded for other users.

Thanks a bunch guys, I am dloading Dougs Sec Console, and
I have also edited the registry by hand thanks to Jeffrey.

Hey Genius,

I think you are incorrect, but if you are going to
post a comment, at least try to point him in the right
direction if you believe mine is invalid. Don't just
post, "You are incorrect" and not say anything else. :(

...And for that, I poop on you!

There are many ways of doing it. IEAK, Local Group Policy, Domain Group Policy, logon scripts. Can't really advise on what s/he should do without knowing what s/he is trying to achive. Are we talking 5000 users or 2 users. Home or Pro. Domain or Workstation.

And you are incorrect. It sets it for the current user only. Every user has a different HKCU.

But you'll notice that Doug had already given s/he an answer. So there's no point me adding to it. I did explain to you why you were wrong. So send me $200 for the correction.
