I have the right info in for Verizon.net however it still will not pull in
the mail

Well, that doesn't sound like the right info is in there then does it ??
Can you post your error message in here so it can be analyzed properly?
Copy-n-paste the whole thing.

I have a Verizon login too. Here's my setup:

General Tab:
User Info - Name
Email Address - Full email
Check - Include this account when receiving mail or sync

Servers Tab:
POP3 = incoming.verizon.net
SMTP = outgoing.verizon.net
Email username = email user - ONLY the FIRST part - before the @ symbol
Check - My server requires authentication
Click Settings box - tick Log on using - enter the email user - ONLY the
FIRST part - before the @ symbol (you don't have to use that password -
UNcheck Remember password

Advanced Tab:
Outgoing SMTP = 587
Incoming POP3 = 110
Note: NO checks for SSL on either in / out

See if your setup matches this and make any corrections - if you still have
errors, post them - copy / paste.

Do you get an error message when you try to send or receive? If so,
right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

Do you by any chance have Verizon DSL?
If so, use the following:

Domain: dsl.verizon.net
Network protocol used: TCP/IP

Were you asking me?

Yes, I do have Verizon DSL and use the setup I posted - it works . . . . .
TCP/IPv4 & 6 - automatic

According to the Verizon website the email servers for DSL are:

Domain: dsl.verizon.net
Network protocol used: TCP/IP

According to the Verizon website the email servers for DSL are:

No, that can't be right. For one thing, the mail servers are normally
the same, regardless of connection method. For another, there is no
setting in Windows Mail for network protocol.

My previously posted setup works fine for Verizon DSL, as I am using it.
Maybe that's a FIOS setup you got that info from . . . . the Op didn't
specify, only indicated Verizon.net. So, I provided my setup as a template.

This it the same problem I am having with verizon. I followed your setup and
here is the error message I am getting....

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'verizon', Server: 'incoming.veizon.net', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

"Unexpectedly terminated" is usually caused by interference from an
antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:
