Setting home page and search page

1.My home page keeps getting reset to the same one that I
do not want, how do I find the source of this problem and
remove it. My anti virus is uptodate, I use Internet
washer pro and spy nuker, I have a hardware firewall and
XP firewall switched on. It keeps getting reset to cool-
search.net even although I posted it in the retricted zone.

2.How do I set my search page when I click on the search
icon on the tool bar?

Thanks, especially to number 1, it drives me nuys that
someone can reset my settings
