setting higher mouse or trackball speed?

Hi, the built-in trackball on my keyboard needs much higher speed or acceleration than Windows XP allows in the ControlPanel-Mouse options. It takes 5 turns of the trackball to move the full width of a 1280 pixel display. It is a Focus Electronics keyboard, so there is no driver supplied at all, just uses the Windows default. Any ideas whether there is a utility or registry setting which would allow me to change the range of values? The slow values are useless anyway, so I would like to shift the settable range to allow up to about 5-10 times faster motion.

If this is the 7200 keyboard, that looks like a very small trackball, which
is likely where the problem lies. They really should have supported this
setup with proprietary drivers.

You could try the latest update for the Intellipoint mouse software for XP.
May or may not help the problem?
