I want to give read permission to My Music to my wife, but deny it to my
children.

The 'My Music' folder is within other folders, but I do not want to give her
permission to those other folders.

How do I give here permission to 'c:\documents and settings\Mukhtiar\My
Documents\My Music' without letting her see the intermediate folders?

You did not say whether you have XP Pro or Home and that makes a
difference. The easiest thing for either operating system would be to
simply put files you wish to have world-readable in the Shared Folders.
There is a Shared Music folder.

I have XP Pro. I id not want to put the files in the Shared Music folder
because I do not want my children to have access.

Anyway, I have now solved it by turning of Simple File Sharing and giving my
wife Read Permission to this folder.

Thanks for your help.
