Can anyone tell me (or send link) how to set a DHCP Class ID with a Group
Policy?

I have created a .bat file that I confirmed works (on the client) to set the
class Id. I copied it to the windows\system folder on a 2003 AD server. Then
I specified it (with complete path) as the logon file to run in group policy
computer settings and user settings (I tried both) but neither worked to set
the class ID

Why don't you use the DHCP snap-in to set the Class ID? Is there a
Windows 2003 Server with the DHCP server role installed in the domain?

Hi SuperK,

I am going to Crosspost this to:

microsoft.public.windows.server.networking

Hopefully someone can help you with your situation.

Absolutely there's a DHCP server in the domain. I have configured the scope
options I want for the specific Class ID on the server and it works fine on
test machine when I manually set the Class ID. I am now trying to figure out
how to "assign" the Class ID to the individual PC's (currently all in their
own OU) without individually "touching" each one. I thought using group
policy was the answer but now I'm questioning myself.

Any ideas?
