Can anyone tell me how to set my NUM LOCK key to default
on when I turn the computer on? I just received a new
Gateway computer and it is running Windows XP. Thank you
in advance for your help.

For the current user; set numlock to on, then log off. Windows 2000/XP/2003
will save your setting.

Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 ignores the bios on this issue.
Set the Reg_Sz string value of
"InitialKeyboardIndicators"="2"
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard
will set the numlock to "On" when no one is logged on. May need to restart
for effect.
