Setting and securing the end of Excel docment

For some of my Excel spread sheet documents I run into
the problem of having a default end point that is well
beyond the actual end of document. This means that when
I give the Control End command I end up at the default
end point rather than the actual end of the document.

Any way of correcting this and moving the end point to
the correct position?
