It's really easy to do too. Here's what you do. Go to any folder and set the view to details. Don't close the window (stay in that folder). Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Folder Options". Select the "View" tab. Click the "Apply To All Folders" button under the "Folder Views section at the top. Click "Apply" then "OK" Close any folder windows, including "My Computer" and then everythin should be in details view

Click the arrow next to it and click "Details". Click to expand... I just tried that, and it didn't work. It only set the directories and files in the root of C:\ to detail view. My method does every file and folder on the entire computer.
