Is this a new installation or an upgrade? If it's an upgrade, I suspect you
have some device driver that is causing your problem (maybe some device
driver that isn't compatible with Windows 2000).
If it's a new installation, you may have a hardware problem. Try updating
the BIOS and obtaining the latest drivers for your Dell.

: i am trying to install win 2000 on a dell dimension
: 4100 .at the point in the installation where the computer
