When I try to set up a network conection I get an error
message for Spooler SubSystem App, is this a problem with
my windows intallation and if so what can I do about it if
not what is wrong and how can I fix it, as I need to be
able to connect my laptop to the Halls network to get
internet access which I need for my course. If there are
any solutions which don't require a format and re-
instalation of XP then that would be great as I don't want
to have to go throught the hassle of backing up,
formating, re-installing etc.

Hi, Patrick -

We've seen this a couple times. My advice is to stop the
spooler service before running the networking wizard.
The quick and dirty way to do it is -

When logged on as someone with administrator rights to
the machine, open a command prompt window.

Type "net stop spooler" (no quotes) and hit the enter key.

Run the networking wizard.

Restart the spooler service by typing "net start spooler".
