Tried to reinstall windows xp from disk....set up failed with the error:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer
The problem seems to be caused by the following file: usrserft.sys
Computer restarts and I get a blue screen stating that "the set up is
restarting"
set briefly proceeds the I get the error:
setup encountered an error while trying to set system security.
Computer restarts and I get the the blue screen "the set up is restarting"
and it happens over and over again.
cannot start up safe mode, system restore, or repair options
Is there a command prompt that will stop the set up from starting?
If not what avenue should I pursue now?
Completely at a loss and cant find this exact problem online dont know what
to do.
Any help would be appreciated, TIA
