Set time to keep mail in Sent Items folder

I have 2 email accounts on my pc, my wife's and my own. My wife's Sent Items
folder contains all the items she's ever sent, going back several years.
However, my Sent Items folder contains only those that I've sent over the
last few months. I'd like to keep my sent items longer and I assume (and
hope) there is a setting that can be changed but I can't find one.

Please help!!

Regards,

Mel.

There is no setting in Windows Mail that would automatically delete mail
from the Sent Items folder. Perhaps prior to a few months ago, you did
not have the setting "Save a copy of sent messages..." enabled.

Hi Gary,

Many thanks for the prompt reply (I've been away so have only just seen it).
I guess you're right, but I don't recall changing any settings. Are the
missing items still on my pc and would it be possible to recover them?

Regards,

Mel.

Hard to say if the missing items are still on your PC.
One way to find out is to use Vista's search: click Start and
type in a unique keyword that would be in the missing email.
