Is there a VBA routine out there to set a print area, but
dump it to an image file instead of sending it to a
printer ? I keep getting asked for files generated by my
workbooks, but due to security, I don't want to send my
equations or workflows by sending the entire workbooks. I
would rather have something more elegant than "Print
Screen" and going through our IS group to purchase screen
capture software is like dealing with the devil. Any
ideas out there ? Thanks,

Dave,

consider using PDF's for distribution,
rather then screendumps(=bitmaps) or gifs..

you'd need Acrobat (not just the reader) for that, then you can just
print to Acrobat Distiller and you have what you need.

I think you'll find some free (shareware) alternatives if you browse for
them.

1. copy the source range and paste special as values in another workbook,
there won't be any formula in new workbook
2. copy the source range and paste it in Paint and saveas in the picture
format of your choice

Either can be automated with VBA.
