I am trying to set permissions on folders. After right clicking on folder >
properties, the security tab is not available. I thought then to logon as
administrator, butI don't use the classic logon screen. Any help please?

Thanks
Greg

If you are using XP Pro, then while in Normal Mode,
right click on My Computer and click on Explore.
In Windows Explorer, click on Tools | Folder Options | View tab -
scroll down to the bottom of the Advanced settings window and
uncheck "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)".
Click Apply and OK.
You will now have the Security tab when you go to a folders properties.

If this is XP Home, you will have to boot to safe mode as either the
built in Administrator account or an account that is an Administrator type.
You will now have the Security tab when you go to a folders properties.
