Set parameters for JPEG export by VBA (to improve quality)

When using the ActiveChart.Export method to save charts as JPEG (or
GIF), get very poor quality results (printing and then scanning is
much, much better). Is there any way to set the compression
parameters (e.g., in the registry, etc.)to get a better quality
output. Using the Interactive options does nothing. Making bigger
charts justs results in cropping. Export as .bmp doesn't work.
Screen save and edit not much better than JPEG export. I'm sure many
have experienced this problem (many have posted here with it), but am
hoping some one out there either has a solution or knows
authoritatively that the situation is "hopeless."

Thanks for your help.

P.S., I'd just keep printing and scanning but need multiple matched
high quality versions in different colors (to map normals and
specularity maps in an animation program).

Try saving it as a PNG. that should be LOTS sharper then a JPG.
(JPG is unsuited for graphics and clipart as it tends to blur,
which is acceptable in photo's, but not for what you want.

On my WinXP system it produces a 977x600 pixel razorsharp image.
with a 15k filesize.(for a simple Q&D test graph)

(screenres is 1024 x 1280 (portrait lcd), though i dont if screenres
affects exported chart size.
