Can someone tell me how I can set and "keep" the window size and placement
of IE6 on a system running WinXP Home?

I tried several fixes found on the net but IE6 still opens centered at a
reduced resolution on a system set at 1024x768.

TIA

You don't say what options you have alredy tried.

Try this, though: Launch IE and expand the size of the window by DRAGGING
it to the size you want, instead of clicking "maximize." Close the window
by clicking File|Close. The next time you launch IE it "should" remember
the size you set previously.

Lira, Ionizer's suggestion will also work for OE and Windows Explorer. It
was not opening at a reduced resolution just because the window size is
smaller. It doesn't matter if the IE window is 2" x 2" it still the same
resolution that your video adapter is set to which in your case is 1024x768.
