I'm trying to set the default background color for
textboxes in power point to yellow. Even though I set the
color and click Set As Default, when I draw a new textbox
the background
is still white.

I am using Office 2000.

Please help.
My boss is getting mad because this is taking me so long!

PowerPoint treats text boxes differently than it treats other shapes; you
can set the font, text color and font-related defaults in the Format, Font
dialog box, but you can't set the default background color.

Instead, though, you can just draw a regular rectangle and then start
typing. Voila. Textbox-like substance that DOES let you set background
default colors.
