Hi,
I am very new to Access but I really need it for a new job I was just
assigned at work. I designed a database and I have a few small problems. The
first I will adress now. I have a form I created to enter part numbers. Every
time I go to enter a new part number the curser atomaticly starts in the 3
box down. I have set the tabs and have the box I want to start is set at 1
but is just will not start there. Any sugestions woud be a great help. I know
it is a small thing but it is driving me nuts. I will post more questions
shortly.

Thank you,
James

These 2 statements go hand-in-hand.

Have someone with a higher level of Access experience check your
layout. Not every random person can construct a database properly.

If your tab stop is set at 0, it will be the first box to hold the
cursor. Change the tab stop on the 3rd box to be 0, not 1.

Step 1. Turn OFF computer.
Step 2. Go to bookstore.
Step 3. Read a good book on database design. (Database Design for Mere
Mortals, by Michael Hernandez is good).

Step 4. Get out paper and pencil and write down what the database is
going to store information about. (processes).
Step 5. Organize tables and fields.
Step 6. Turn on computer and model.
Step 7. Test (repeat steps 4-7 as necessary).

That was a very rude and demeaning post. The guy came here meekly
looking for help, and even explained that he was a n00b. All he wanted
was for someone to teach him how to use the Tab Stop event properly.

BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!
