hi

I eed to reformat/restoe my C drive. I've tried using the Restore CD that
came with my PC (the disc includes XP Home). When I try to select the
option to "Restore drive C" it asks for the administrator password. The
only problem is there isn't such a password... Is there anyway that I can
set an administrator password so that I can then, hopefully, get the Restore
program to run?

thanks

Have you tried clicking Okay without giving it a password? Many OEM
computers come installed with a blank password. If not, you would need to
contact your computer manufacturer to find out what password they used when
the box was built.

Hi Tim

Yes, I tried just pressing enter but all I get then is a command prompt for
C:Windows...Guess I'll haver to contact the manufacturer. It's pretty
annoying really as it makes me feel as if I don't own my own computer!

Thanks
